Sponsorship Opportunities
Rowing across the Atlantic Ocean will be a monumental challenge for the Give Us A Wave team, both physically and mentally. But before the team can even begin to face those obstacles, they have an even bigger one to overcome; raising enough money to even be able to partake in the World’s Toughest Row. Funds need to be raised for the boat, training, provisions, equipment, insurance, shipping, marketing, food and not to mention the charity donations.
Give Us A Wave want to give you the opportunity to get involved and raise enough money so they can take on this challenge. They are looking to corporations, individuals, family and friends to help make this dream happen, and with a minimum fundraising target of £150,000, getting to the start will be the hardest part.
Race Costs
To help provide a visual, a breakdown of associated costs for the World’s Toughest Row race can be seen broken down below. Give Us A Wave are looking to raise a minimum of £150,000 or £50 for every mile they have to row across the Atlantic Ocean. This will be to cover all costs. Obviously anything in addition to this then helps to further benefit the teams chosen charities; The Grand Appeal, The Marine Conservation Society, The Exeter Chiefs Foundation and ANDYSMANCLUB.
Boat & Storage - £80,000
The boat will be bought off a team who have previously competed in the World’s Toughest Row race. Once received the boat will need to be safely stored.
Safety & Navigation Equipment, Oars, Kit etc - £15,000
This will include all the additional kit which will be needed to safely cross the Atlantic Ocean.
Insurance & Shipping - £13,000
The boat will need to be shipped to La Gomera and shipped back to the UK from Antigua. The team will also require excellent insurance policies to cover their boat and themselves.
Race Entry Fees - £22,000
To take part in the World’s Toughest Row, there are some race entry fees which need to be covered.
Food - £7,000
The Give Us A Wave team will burn about 5,000 calories each per day - fuelling themselves correctly is incredibly important to ensure they get enough strength and stamina.
Course Fees & Training - £4,000
There are specific courses and qualifications which the team will all need to complete and be up to date with, alongside a lot of personal training sessions.
Marketing - £3,000
PR, website fees and marketing costs all need to be covered.
Contingency - £6,000
Because things don’t always go to plan!
